Visitor Information and Guidelines

For patient safety, visitors may be restricted or asked to leave at the discretion of the care team. Additionally, visiting may be limited or restricted during pandemics, community outbreaks, or an outbreak or infection in a patient care unit to protect patients, visitors, and staff. 

Visitors are required to adhere to the following guidelines: 

  • All visitors are required to wear shoes and shirts;
  • Smoking is not allowed in buildings or on grounds associated with the Concord Hospital health system;
  • All visitors are prohibited from bringing contraband (i.e., alcohol, drugs, weapons) onto any Concord Hospital health system property. Any visitor found possessing contraband will be requested to leave. The assistance of security or local law enforcement officials may be requested at the staff's discretion;
  • Visitors engaging in disruptive, threatening, or violent behavior of any kind will be escorted from the facility by security personnel. Similarly, visitors who interfere in any way with the care of any patient will be directed to leave the facility;
  • Visitors must be able to care for, obtain food, and be able to evacuate themselves in case of an emergency. No medications or oxygen are provided by the hospital department where the patient is located;
  • Visitors are asked to wash or sanitize their hands before entering and upon seeing a patient;
  • Visitors are expected to follow posted infection prevention guidance as well as any necessary screening, personal protective equipment usage, or other infection prevention recommendations provided by the care team, if applicable;
  • Visitors who have symptoms of infectious diseases (i.e., fever, chills, sore throat, cough, vomiting, and or diarrhea) in the previous 48 hours should not visit;
  • Anyone recently exposed to communicable diseases (i.e., chicken pox, measles, whooping cough) should not visit;
  • Visitors may be asked to leave the room during treatments or examinations;
  • Food is not always an appropriate gift. Please ask a patient's nurse about dietary restrictions before bringing food or drink to a patient.
